H2O Hub – A Web-Based Water Can Delivery Management System

Abstract

Getting clean, safe drinking water every day is a non-negotiable need for homes, offices, and shops all over urban and semi-urban India. But even as the water can delivery business booms in cities like Damoh, Jabalpur, and Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh, most of these companies are still stuck with old-school methods—orders and records handled by hand or over the phone. You see this mess in all sorts of ways: missed deliveries, lost or wrong orders, unhappy customers, and zero visibility for owners into what’s actually happening on the ground.

That’s where H2O Hub comes in. It’s a full-stack web-based system built from scratch to bring the entire order process for local water delivery businesses online. On the tech side, it uses HTML5, CSS3, and plain old JavaScript for the frontend, with Node.js and Express.js running the backend and MongoDB Atlas as the cloud database. Everything talks to each other using a RESTful API setup.

Here’s how it works. Customers get their own portal to register, log in securely with JWT, place orders, track those orders live, update their profiles, and recover passwords via OTP, either on email (using Nodemailer and Gmail SMTP) or SMS (with Fast2SMS). On the business side, there’s an admin panel where owners or managers can see every order in progress, update delivery status instantly, check out user info, and get at-a-glance business stats—all in one place. Security’s solid, too, with bcrypt for password hashing, JWT for authentication, and role-based controls.

We ran 24 different functional tests, and every single one passed. So the system’s reliable, secure, and works as promised. What H2O Hub really shows is that you don’t need crazy budgets or big teams to bring real digital transformation to small or mid-sized delivery businesses in India. Open-source, full-stack tools do the job just fine, and they’re easy to grow with.
