Influence of Mobility Solutions and Transportation Technologies on Logistics Efficiency

Abstract

Technology is changing rapidly and has many different opportunities to improve the efficiency of companies’ logistics operations and reduce costs. However, while the benefits of technology are numerous, many companies experience difficulties and challenges in the integration of advanced technology into their logistics processes. Companies experience a variety of challenges when implementing IOT devices including disruptions to their operations, data security concerns, and compatibility issues; however, they believe the adoption of IOT will provide real time visibility and tracking of logistics operations. The purpose of the research is to investigate how mobile technology and transportation technology impact logistics efficiency. The sample size for the research is 152. The research is descriptive in nature, and the researchers used convenience sampling. Primary data for the research has been collected through survey questionnaires. To analyse the survey data, the researchers used simple percentage analysis, chi-square analysis, and correlation statistical tests. According to the survey results, 37.5% of the respondents who indicated that the adoption of advanced technologies has resulted in increased productivity in logistics operations. Additionally, the researchers found that there was a significant relationship between the education level of the respondent and the likelihood of The IOT device integration affecting customer satisfaction with logistics services. In conclusion, companies that use technologies effectively will increase their operational efficiency.
