Abstract

As the global energy landscape shifts toward decentralisation, digitalisation, and decarbonisation, Power SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems have emerged as a cornerstone of resilient and sustainable power infrastructure. This paper examines the evolution, architecture, and integration of Power SCADA with emerging technologies, including IoT, AI, machine learning, and blockchain, to enhance the real-time intelligence of modern power grids. It discusses the critical role of SCADA in enabling smart metering, demand response, renewable energy integration, and grid resilience in both urban and rural settings. Additionally, the study addresses cybersecurity challenges and regulatory frameworks necessary to safeguard critical infrastructure. Through an analysis of technical components, use cases, and future trends, the paper presents Power SCADA as not only a monitoring and control platform but as a transformative enabler of intelligent, flexible, and sustainable energy systems for the 21st century.
