Abstract
This study developed and evaluated Infographics as instructional materials for the visual learning of historical events among Grade 6 learners in Araling Panlipunan 6, particularly on the topic Tungo sa Kalayaan ng Pilipinas. Specifically, it examined the quality of the developed infographics in terms of content, format, presentation and organization, and accuracy and currency of information, as evaluated by experts, and determined learners’ perceptions of their effectiveness. Guided by Cognitivism Theory, Dual Coding Theory, and the ADDIE Model, the study employed a descriptive-evaluative research design. Five expert validators assessed the instructional materials using the Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS) Evaluation Tool, while 27 Grade 6 learners evaluated their effectiveness through a perception questionnaire. Data were analyzed using weighted mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that the developed infographics were of high quality, obtaining weighted means of 3.72 for content, 3.90 for format, 3.70 for presentation and organization, and 3.80 for accuracy and currency of information. Learners likewise expressed a very favorable perception of the materials, with an overall weighted mean of 3.92, indicating that the infographics enhanced comprehension, engagement, retention, and understanding of historical events. The study concludes that infographics are effective visual learning resources that support meaningful and engaging learning in Araling Panlipunan.
