Impact of Environmental Pollutants on Fish Health: An Overview
Kharat P. S.1*
Abstract
Environmental pollutants pose significant risks to aquatic ecosystems, impacting fish health and biodiversity. This overview examines the effects of various pollutants, including heavy metals, pesticides, industrial chemicals, plastics, and pharmaceuticals, on fish physiology, reproduction, immunity, and behavior. Exposure to these contaminants can lead to toxicity, bioaccumulation, endocrine disruption, and altered ecological interactions. Understanding these impacts is crucial for aquatic ecosystem conservation and management.
