Select a model to represent the bremsstrahlung X-ray spectrum for Rigaku-200EGM X-ray generator

Abstract
The shape of the bremsstrahlung X-ray spectrum strongly determines the mean energy, an important parameter for calculating the dose rate of an X-ray generator. This work presents a method to select a model that accurately represents the bremsstrahlung X-ray spectrum of the Rigaku-200EGM X-ray generator, which is used at the Training Center of the Nuclear Research Institute in Vietnam. The selection process is based on a comparison of the calculated dose rates from the bremsstrahlung models and the experimentally measured ones provided by the Rigaku Corporation. The results indicate that Kramer’s model should be used to calculate the dose rate for the Rigaku-200EGM X-ray generator.
