Abstract

Yogic practices have been increasingly recognized for their contributions to both physical and mental well-being. In the context of combat sports such as kickboxing, where athletes are exposed to intense physical exertion and psychological stress, the incorporation of yogic exercises offers a holistic approach to performance enhancement and well-being. This review paper explores the impact of yogic practices on selected physical fitness components such as flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance, as well as psychological parameters including stress management, focus, anxiety reduction, and emotional stability in kickboxers. The study is based on an extensive review of existing literature and aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how yogic exercises can serve as a complementary training modality for kickboxers. Findings suggest that integrating yoga into routine training programs can enhance physical fitness and promote better mental health, ultimately contributing to overall athletic performance.
