Abstract
In the present scenario, the world faces severe water pollution problems that cause major health issues. Common sources include industrial wastewater and municipal sewage, which are increasingly unavoidable due to rapid industrialization and urbanization. In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using a hydrothermal method, employing Cassia javanica plant extract, β-cyclodextrin, and titanium isopropoxide as precursors. Hydrothermal synthesis is an established technique recognized for producing well-controlled nanostructures under moderate temperature and pressure conditions. Characterization was conducted using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles exhibited effective performance in methylene blue dye degradation, photocatalytic activity, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, consistent with previous findings on TiO2 photocatalysis and antimicrobial behavior.
