Abstract

This study examines the market readiness for digital fire safety solutions in India’s industrial sector, focusing on fire hydrant pump room management. The research, guided by the Diffusion of Innovation theory, used a descriptive qualitative design. Structured feedback was collected from 50 professionals across various industries, including manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. The findings show that while most organizations use manual, paper-based processes, they acknowledge inefficiencies like poor real-time visibility and reporting errors. Despite general satisfaction with current services, gaps in responsiveness were noted. Critically, 72% of respondents expressed a willingness to adopt digital systems, prioritizing features such as real-time monitoring and automated alerts. This indicates that the sector is transitioning into the early majority adoption stage. The study contributes to the literature on service management and technology adoption by applying a market readiness analysis to fire safety services. Managerial implications suggest that firms should focus on awareness campaigns, pilot demonstrations, and compliance-integrated solutions to encourage widespread adoption. Future research could track longitudinal adoption patterns and compare different industries.
