Investigating the Roles of Women in the Development of the Family and the Community

Abstract

In the current world, women have significant role in the construction and maintain of the family in the community, they played an important role in social, political economic, cultural and religious perspective The study explore more on the roles of women in the development of the family .They hold different positions in the development of the family and contributed mechanism that   helped the prosperity of the family .The study adopted the theory of social feminist aimed at promoting  the right of women  and focus on  the relationship  between men and women .Conceptual framework  were adopted  to the roles  and challenges  of women .The study used descriptive  research design which describes the roles of women The tools used in the study were questionnaire, interviews. The study was carried at Garissa township sub county. The respondents were 40 participants with 5 government officials from different offices. They were divorced women, single women, married women and men .The data were collected using purposive and random and analyzed using SPSS 25 versions to have clear data. Descriptive inferential statistic such as means, tables, graphs and pie charts were used to get result of the study while observed the objectives of the study. The study recommended the stakeholders more research to carry out to get more information on the roles of women in the family.
