Abstract
Medicinal herbs have demonstrated significant potential as supportive agents in cancer treatment due to their wide range of bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, and phenolics. These natural compounds can exert anticancer effects by reducing oxidative stress, promoting apoptosis, inhibiting tumor growth, limiting cell proliferation, and influencing key signaling pathways involved in cancer progression. Both experimental and some clinical studies suggest that medicinal herbs may help minimize side effects of conventional therapies while enhancing overall patient outcomes. However, to ensure their safety and effectiveness, further studies are needed to standardize herbal preparations, establish proper dosing, and conduct rigorous clinical trials. Combining medicinal herbs with conventional cancer therapies may offer a natural, holistic, and potentially cost-effective strategy to improve cancer management and patient quality of life.
