Abstract

Nanotechnology involves the manipulation of materials at the nanoscale, which is typically between 1 and 100 nanometers. Materials at this scale exhibit distinct properties, including mechanical, optical, and electrical characteristics, which differ from their bulk counterparts due to the increased surface area and quantum effects. Nanoscale Materials at the nanoscale, materials display unique properties—mechanical, optical, and electrical—because of the high surface area and quantum effects. These properties are significantly different from those observed in bulk materials. Fabrication Techniques To create nanomaterials, techniques such as chemical vapor deposition, molecular beam epitaxy, and nanoparticle synthesis are commonly used. These methods enable precise control over the material’s structure and properties at the nanoscale. Applications Nanotechnology has a wide range of applications in several industries. Medicine- It allows for advancements like targeted drug delivery, enhanced diagnostic tools, and better imaging techniques using nanoparticles. Electronics Nanotechnology contributes to the development of smaller, faster, and more efficient electronic devices. Energy- It helps improve solar cells, energy storage systems like batteries, and other energy conversion technologies. Environmental Protection- Nanomaterials are used in areas such as water purification, pollution control, and waste management. Materials Science Nanotechnology leads to the creation of stronger, lighter, and more durable materials used in industries like construction, automotive, and aerospace.
